Dissident musician Aria Aramnejad detained

GVF — Sources in Iran’s northern Mazandaran Province say dissident singer Aria Aramnejad has been detained.
After referring to the appeals court of Mazandaran province, Aramnejad’s house was raided by five security forces who violently arrested the young musician. The men also confiscated Aramnejad’s personal belongings including his computer.
Shortly after the Ashura protests in December 2009, Aramnejad was arrested for releasing a song in support of the opposition Green Movement. While in prison, the artist spent fifty days in solitary confinement. He was later sentenced to nine months in prison.
His sentence is currently being examined in the appeal phase.
