Senior FMI member Mohammad Tavassoli detained

GVF — A senior member of the Freedom Movement of Iran has been detained.
According to opposition website Mizankhabar, Mohammad Tavassoli, the head the political bureau of the Freedom Movement was arrested on Thursday.
In a recent open letter, Tavassoli along with more than 140 other political activists across the country warned former reformist President Mohammad Khatami that there was no hope for free and fair elections to take place in the country.
Despite being Tehran’s first mayor following the 1979 Revolution, Tavassoli has endured many years of prison and torture. Shortly after the rigged 2009 presidential election, he was imprisoned for two months in Iran’s notorious Evin prison.
